  1. Human Resource Officer-Ghana Jobs

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a “Human Resource Officer” to join a leading infrastructure consultancy and to contribute in the growth and development of a business.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Human Resources Officer will be responsible for administering day to day human resources services in order to meet the business goals of the Country

Key Responsibilities:

•            Provide HR Support across in the Country;

•            Providing assistance in the recruitment process;

•            Administration of onboarding and cessation of employees;

•            Induction of new employees;

•            Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues

•            Validate monthly payroll

•            Manage the recruitment and selection process

•            Manage data base of all Country staff

•            Draft contracts of new recruits

•            Coordinating the Training, Learning and Development Process;

•            Preparing and maintaining personnel records and ensuring that all employee files contain current contracts, CVs, educational certificates, job descriptions personal details, identification, probation assessments, any disciplinary measures, termination letters where applicable.

•            Ensuring that HR matters and files are treated in the strictest confidence;

•            Administration and tracking of Leave;

•            Participation in HR Projects; and

•            Any other duties assigned.

Key Performance Indicators:

•            Maintain a minimum record of 95% of staff completion of Compliance Training in West Africa

•            Ensure that at least 95% of staff complete their performance appraisals

•            Ensure that at least 95% of staff complete their goals and objectives (action plans) and update their progress throughout the year

•            Completion of Training Needs Analysis

•            Achievement of  training hours / employee / year

•            Timely and accurate contract preparation

•            Complete employee records

•            100% of Cessation forms and Exit Interviews are completed on time in West Africa

•            Good rapport with colleagues

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

      • BSc/MSc degree in Human Resources or related field
      • Proven working experience as HR manager or another HR executive
      • People oriented and results driven
      • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
      • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
      • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
      • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
      • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
      • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices

2. Finance Manager-Ghana Jobs

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a “Finance Manager” to join a leading infrastructure consultancy and to contribute in the growth and development of a business.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Responsible for the Management of all Financial Reporting of SMEC’s operations in Ghana Office

Key Responsibilities:Ghana Jobs

• Ghana Jobs-To manage cash sheets in Ghana Office

• Ghana Jobs-To manage the cashflow in Ghana Office

•            To make sure that all financial reports are submitted and processed into the system in time.

•            To ensure that projects, opportunity management and overheads in Ghana are within the budget.

•            To ensure statutory payments (filing of WHT, VAT, CIT etc) are on time

•            To prepare and submit invoices to the Clients in Ghana

•            To make sure that all financial reports are submitted and processed into the system in time.

•            To prepare and manage the payroll for Ghana office

•            Ensure business renewal certificates (Registrar General, AMA, GHIE, GIPC etc) are on time

•            Maintain petty cash account system. Reconcile petty cash and bank account monthly

•            Maintain records for payments to sub consultants and vendors

•            Maintaining all relevant income and expenditure for each project in Ghana

•            Any other duties assigned.

Key Performance Indicators:

•            Attention to details and ability to meet deadlines.

•            Statutory compliance.

•            Understanding of SMEC’s financial system.

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or its equivalent.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good understanding of management of funds.
  • Business administrative skill and commercial skill.
  • Experience of working in Africa is essential.

3.Site Engineer-Ghana Jobs

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for a “Site Engineer” to join a leading infrastructure consultancy and to contribute in the growth and development of a business.

Primary Purpose of Position:

The primary purpose of the Site Engineer is to effectively supervise and coordinate all the work of the project staff and contractors for the “Access Project” which is designed to provide safe, quality and reliable electricity in some selected markets, economic enclaves and social institutions such as schools and health facilities

Key Responsibilities:

•            Reviewing documents submitted by the contractors for the Engineers approval

•            Training site inspectors and clerk of works in the efficient discharge of their duties

•            Supervise site inspectors and clerk of works in the efficient discharge of their duties

•            Coordinate activities of site inspectors and clerk of works

•            Verifying information and data submitted by site inspectors and clerk of works

•            Monitor project progress, compliance with design specifications and safety standards

•            Create work schedules and adjust as needed to meet project deadlines

•            Maintain detailed documentation of all project engineering activities

•            Attend project meetings

•            Prepare monthly project progress reports

Key Performance Indicators:

•            Knowledge and appreciation of special terminology used in the Engineering field;

•            Brand awareness and SMEC cultural development;

•            Quality, professionalism, technical innovation and excellence;

•            Project delivery to meet client’s Terms of Reference (TOR) and SMEC’s expected financial Contribution;

•            Commercial awareness, timely submission of invoices and financial reports, reduction of lock-up; and

•            Promoting staff development and project team management

Key Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus appropriate training and certification from a relevant recognized professional body.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Knowledge of FIDIC Contract management.
  • Familiarity with good international industry practices in related field.
  • Must be registered with a recognized professional institution in any of the relevant fields.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral).
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and other professional software in related field.
  • Good organization and multi-tasking skills.
