Sightsavers is excited to be recruiting several Programme Interns across our Nigeria offices on Kaduna, Kebbi, Kwara, Benue, Sokoto, Zamfara and Kogi.

Each Programme Intern will work within the Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) programmes and support the implementation of the Sightsavers NTDs project in the state by assisting the Programme Officer and therefore gaining valuable experience in project implementation.

Each Programme Intern will assist in the development and documentation of state NTD programmes implementation plans, help with filing and archiving of programme, monitoring and financial reports, arrange and coordinate programme meetings and activities and ensure reports and written and submitted with and expected timeframe. They will assist in innovative implementation of activities for programme delivery and achievement of organisational objectives, and with processing payments to vendors, per diem and transportation for participants during field activities.

The Interns will discuss their objectives with their line managers, receive on-going on the job coaching and have monthly review meetings to help with progression.

As a successful Programme Intern, you will have a First Degree or Higher National Diploma in Sciences or Social Sciences, have the ability to build strong working relationships and to think strategically and translate concepts into effective action plans. You will also have some experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects, understand and be able to work with project budgets, forecasts and reports, and have a commitment to equality of opportunity for disabled people.

The Support Services Interns will conduct protocol services to stakeholders, provide day-to-day premises services to the NCO and Aduja Annex Office, support the Administrative Secretary, Assistant, and Support Services Team, and assist the Support Services Manager with ad-hoc tasks and projects.

The Interns will discuss their objectives with their line managers, receive on-going on the job coaching and have monthly review meetings to help with progression.

As the successful Support Services Intern you will have a First Degree or Higher National Diploma in Business Management, Social Sciences or the Humanities. Job Description-Sightsavers Jobs in Nigeria

Sightsavers currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Programme Officer to manage the daily activities and execution of programmes and to enhance the quality of the Sightsavers programmes. The Programme Officer will will also be responsible for implementation of five Preventive Chemotherapy (PCT) NTDs (Trachoma, Onchocerciasis, Lymphatic Filariasis, Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) and Schistosomiasis) in Kebbi State. Responsibilities will also include delivery of NTD programme targets, provision of programme management guidance and direct technical support to the implementation of integrated NTD programmes, impact assessment and advocacy for the elimination of NTDs in Sightsavers supported state (Kebbi State) in Nigeria

The Programme Officer will support partners to identify their own technical and capacity building needs, manage all aspects of the project cycle with the partner, build effective relationships and support longer-term relationships that go beyond the duration of individual projects, promote shared learning and collaboration between partners, and be proactive in providing good quality information on case studies and interesting news stories relating to the Kebbi NTD project(s) to support preparation of fundraising materials in Haywards Heath, UK.

This position will also support the Nigerian country team to establish and maintain effective relationships with the Kebbi State Ministry of Health, assist the Kebbi NTD team in the implementation of monitoring and evaluating NTD programme performance, develop relationships with other NGOs to support funding and delivery of services, and assist the Programme Manager and Kebbi State Ministry of Health in disseminating information on NTD activities, studies, research and lessons learned at National and State level.

As the successful candidate you will have a degree (or equivalent) in relevant field (Biological Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Social Sciences Education), with a postgraduate degree being an added advantage. You will have extensive working experience, ideally in an NGO environment, have a background in of all aspects of project management within a community development programme and have experience of advocacy work; demonstrable ability to influence high-level government officials and/or other decision-making bodies.

As the Finance and Admin Officer you will ensure financial control and risk management and conformity to the policies and procedures of the contract with specific reference to, Finance Management and controls, Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting, Monitoring and Audits, and verifying claims by programme implementers.

The Finance and Admin Officer will also ensure compliance to local regulations, track, monitor and analyse the porgrammes supplies using monitoring tools and data bases, support and administer financial management, accountability and capacities of partners with the principles of the contract, as well as developing and providing grant management support.

As the successful candidate you will posses a university degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance (with a professional accounting qualification being an added advantage), have a good level of working experience in a similar role, ideally within an INGO environment, and have a back ground of financial management of Donor Funds.
